Just finished my first drawing of the New Year, This one is called "Aspen", she started with two micky mouse ear like appendages then had antlers before finally deciding to go for the cone hat. I also typed the file name as asppendages in error, so Aspen seemed an appropriate name. You can buy a print of her over here.

We were asked to contribute to the Man and Machine page of this months Blueprint magazine issue no: 299. We decided on a tongue in cheek design for a shoe heel dynamo system. Above is the flyer for the Fruitmarket gallery's Bookmarket which takes place on The 9th December, there will be book signing from David Shrigley and talks by Alice Melvin and Alan Spence plus a whole host of nice designers. Well worth a visit even if it's just for the wine and mince pies.

I've just taken some portraits of my friend and talented illustrator Verity Keniger. I used a lovely contax 35mm film camera. At the same time I shot some black and white that I'll turn into argyrotypes, the exposures for my argyrotypes are made in the sun so hopefully there'll be some sunny spells soon.

We've been taking lots of pictures using good old film recently, the most recent batch was put into the lab and they put the negs into the plastice sleeves while the film was still damp, and so after pealing them out we now have a whole series that look like they were processed about 40 years ago. We kind of like it.

Just finished working on these two new butterfly prints, a little bit more patterned that my usual work but I was happy with the results so will work on some more, I drew them using a super thin 0.13mm pen which I thought would be a tad fine but it seemed to hold the line nicely. I do all my illustration with Rotring pens, and thought I'd post a little drawing I did of one them above. My favourite one is the 0.13mm Rotring rapidograph. I also recently imported a Koh-I-Noor rapidograph from North America and was really impressed with the quality so use that for sketching.
